About these terms
These Terms govern your use of Design YAL, provided by the operator of Design YAL ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms, including the assumption of risk below, and you acknowledge the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. Questions about these Terms can be sent through our contact page at /contact.
Purpose of the service
Design YAL is a planning and visualization tool provided for general information purposes only. The service may contain errors, inaccuracies or omissions — including in drawings, measurements, dimensions, unit conversions, areas, quantities, prices, totals, exports, 3D views, templates and any AI output — for example due to software bugs, rounding, user input or data issues. All outputs are approximate and must be independently checked by the user and verified by qualified professionals before any decision, purchase, order, permit application or construction. Nothing in the service is professional, architectural, engineering, legal or financial advice. Because errors are possible, the user bears full and sole responsibility for any use of, or reliance on, the service and its outputs, whether free or paid.
Use at your own risk
The service — including drawings, measurements, quantities, prices, exports, 3D views, templates and any AI output — is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement and availability. You are solely responsible for how you use the service and its outputs, for verifying all dimensions, quantities, prices and suitability with qualified professionals (such as an architect, engineer or licensed contractor), and for compliance with building codes, permits and regulations before any purchase, construction or renovation. Outputs are not professional, engineering, architectural, legal or financial advice. Contractor quotes are strictly between you and the contractor; the operator is not a party and is not responsible for contractors, their work, prices or conduct. These provisions apply permanently and to every plan — free, beta, paid Pro and any future commercial licence (including Pro+ Business) — and survive the end of the beta, any change of plan and the termination of your account. Any future paid-plan or commercial terms will incorporate this section and the disclaimers and limitation of liability below by reference.
Free beta
Design YAL is currently a free public beta. No paid subscriptions are offered and no payment details are collected. Free plan limits apply and some features are reserved for planned paid tiers. Features may change, be interrupted or be removed during the beta. Updated Terms will be published on the website and in the app before any paid plans launch.
Intellectual property
The service, including all software, design, text, graphics, catalog data, templates and the "Design YAL" name and logo, belongs to the operator or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except the licence below.
Personal, non-commercial licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the service, its outputs (plans, quantities, exports, images) or its content for any commercial purpose — including providing paid design, architecture, contracting or estimating services to third parties, reselling, or incorporating it into another product — unless and until a separate commercial licence (the planned Pro+ Business plan) is offered and accepted under separate terms, which will incorporate the "Use at your own risk" and liability provisions of these Terms by reference. Exception: contractors you invite may use the private quote page solely to view your request and submit their quote to you. All use is at your sole risk and responsibility, without any liability of the operator, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (subject to the carve-out in the liability section).
Prohibited use
You must not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the service; scrape, crawl or automatically extract content or data; frame or mirror the service; use the service to build a competing product; bypass plan limits, security or access controls; resell or rent access to the service; or remove watermarks, copyright or other notices from the service or its exports.
Your content
You retain ownership of your plans, photos, room designs and the prices you enter. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and display that content to provide the service to you and to the people you explicitly share it with. Contractors retain ownership of their quote content, which is shown only to the requesting homeowner. Do not upload content you lack permission to use, unlawful material or other people's personal information without authorization.
Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback about the service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that feedback to improve the service, without obligation to you.
AI processing
Signed-in Free users get one AI floor-plan scan and one AI restyle (1K) per calendar month. Copilot and more AI come with Pro. Photos and plans you upload for AI plan scanning or restyle are sent to an AI provider for processing; when you use Copilot, relevant design information is sent to an AI provider to produce your requested result. AI can make mistakes. Check measurements, recommendations and generated content before relying on them.
Quantities and user-entered prices
Quantities are computed from your drawing. Totals are based on prices the user enters, a personal price list or a selected contractor quote, with any optional contingency. No built-in prices or automatic labour percentage are supplied. Totals are not a guarantee of availability, compliance or safety. Verify quantities, local taxes, labour and supplier prices with qualified professionals. Plans and room labels are illustrative and are not engineering, permit, accessibility or building-code approval.
Sharing and offline copies
Anyone holding an active share link can view the shared design and comments. Revoke links to stop future access; this cannot erase copies already saved by a viewer. Offline presentation copies are stored on your device. Deleting an account does not remotely erase device copies or previously downloaded files; remove them on each device.
Contractor quote requests
Private invitation links show only the requested work and plan. Quotes may be submitted once, with no revisions. Only the requesting homeowner sees contractor names, contact emails, prices, notes, availability and duration to compare and contact contractors about the job. Requests stop accepting quotes 30 days after creation unless closed earlier. All request and quote data, including selected submissions, is permanently deleted 30 days after closure by daily cleanup (up to 24 hours later), or when the project/account is deleted. Download the comparison to keep a copy. A selection is not a contract or payment; agree terms directly with the contractor.
Community guidelines for comments
Comments on shared projects must be relevant, respectful and lawful. Do not post spam, advertising, harassment, hate speech, sexual or violent content, personal information about others, or content you have no right to share. Any signed-in viewer can report a comment as spam, offensive or other. Comments with three or more reports are hidden from viewers until the project owner reviews them. Project owners can hide, restore or delete comments on their projects and block a commenter from all of their share links. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these guidelines. Termination
You may delete your account in Profile at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, including the prohibited-use rules, with notice where reasonably possible.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, data or property, arising from use of or inability to use the service. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall have no liability. Where liability cannot be excluded, the operator's total aggregate liability is limited to the lower of (a) the amounts the user actually paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 100. These provisions apply to every plan — free, beta, paid Pro and any future commercial licence — and survive the end of the beta, any change of plan and the termination of your account. Any future paid-plan or commercial terms will incorporate these provisions by reference. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and nothing limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. Keep your own copies of important work.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from content you upload without the necessary rights or from your breach of these Terms.
Changes to Terms and Privacy Policy
We may update these Terms and the Privacy Policy at any time. Updates are published on the website and in the app, with the 'Last updated' date shown at the top. We do not send email or other individual notifications about changes. Users are responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically. Continued use after an update is published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, signed-in users are also asked to accept the published Terms version inside the website/app on their next visit before continuing. Acceptance is recorded with the version and timestamp; no email, push or individual notification is sent.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. Disputes are governed by applicable law.
